The challenge: Launching a new trucking company in a tough cross-border market

In June 2024, Jorge Bustos made his first of many moves: founding his own trucking company, BCR Transport. He started with one truck.

Starting a new trucking company is notoriously difficult, especially for a small, lean operation. Jorge is the sales and operations department. His challenge was that of any new business owner: Could a new one-truck operation break into the cross-border market to find new customers, establish credibility, and earn consistent loads to survive and grow in a particularly hard market?

In BCR Transport’s first year, Jorge grew his fleet from one truck and driver to six trucks and B-1 drivers. He’s established relationships with close to 50 brokers, all sourced directly through Cargado. “I have used only Cargado to get customers,” he says. “So far, we have 50 customers. I really appreciate it, and we hope to continue growing together.”
