The story
Brokers told us that Cargado, a modern marketplace for Mexico and Canada freight, was recommending the wrong carriers. We heard them. We have been working on it, and the first of several changes is now live.
The suggested carriers list on your Coverage tab is now ranked by what carriers actually do on Cargado, rather than inferred from bidding on lanes that merely looked similar. Nothing changes in how you post.
How carriers are selected
A posted truck that fits your load
Carriers with a truck posted for your origin, dates and trailer type move up ahead of those without one.
Relevance to your lane
This is the part that changed. The ranking now weighs what the carrier has actually done on Cargado:
- Recent bidding
- Active on Cargado
- Has run your corridor
- Lane inside their service area
What we measured
We replayed 90 days of real marketplace activity through both the old and the new ranking.
- On lanes you had not posted before, the share of eventual bidders who made the list went from 73% to 89%.
- On lanes you post often, it went from 79% to 86%.
- Suggestions with no geographic link to the load fell about 40%.
In short, more of the carriers who end up bidding on your load are on the list before they bid, and fewer carriers on the list have nothing to do with your lane.
Keep telling us
This is the first of several changes to suggested carriers. If a suggested carrier looks wrong for your freight, write to success@cargado.com and tell us.
