Quote a Mexico lane in minutes. Price an RFP with real bids.

Cargado Market Rates come from the bids carriers place on Cargado, not from a survey. Look up one lane in the app, price a whole bid file in Excel, or pull rates through the API.

Why Mexico quotes take longer than they should

On a domestic lane you have a rate benchmark in seconds. On a Mexico lane you have a text thread with two carriers, a spreadsheet from last quarter, and a shipper who wants the number by end of day.

Benchmarks stop at the border.

Most rate tools are built on U.S. domestic data and go quiet once the freight crosses the border.

The bid file lands all at once.

An RFP with dozens of Mexico lanes and a one-week turnaround is priced by asking carriers one lane at a time.

Every lane looks the same in the spreadsheet.

A lane with a deep bid history and a lane nobody has bid in a year get the same confidence in your quote.

How it works in Cargado

1

Look up the lane in the Rates tab

Enter origin, destination and trailer type. The result is a Low, Mid and High range for the lane, built from the bids carriers placed on Cargado over the trailing 12 weeks and refreshed weekly. Fuel is included. Currency follows your setting, in USD, MXN or CAD.

2

Read the range and the confidence before you quote

Low, Mid and High are the 25th, 50th and 75th percentiles of the bids on that lane, so Mid is the middle bid, not an average. Every result carries a confidence label, Strong, Medium or Lower, that tells you how many bids stand behind the number and how much they vary. It is a guide, not a guarantee. A 12-week history chart shows whether the lane has been moving before you commit a rate.

3

Price the whole RFP in Excel

The Cargado add-in for Excel puts the same rates in the bid file. Paste your lanes into the Cargado Rates sheet and the add-in returns Low, Mid and High, the confidence, and the recommended border crossing, one row per lane. It runs in Excel for Windows, Mac and the web, and you sign in with your Cargado login. No API key to manage.

4

No rate? Post the lane as a potential

When a lane has too few bids to show a range, the result says so and offers one click to post it as a potential. The bids that come back tell you where the lane prices today, and they build the Market Rate for next time.

What you need

  • A broker subscription. Market Rates are included with every broker plan; lookups are metered per company, not per user, and every user on your team can run them.
  • For Excel: an admin deploys the add-in from Microsoft AppSource once for your organization. Each user then signs in with their Cargado login. Works in Excel for Windows, Mac and the web.
  • For each lane: origin city, destination city and trailer type. Cross-border lanes return the recommended crossing.
  • The lane list you are quoting. Lookups in the app, in Excel and through the API count against the same plan allowance.

Pricing inside your TMS or pricing tool? Use the API

The Market Rates API returns the same Low, Mid and High range, confidence and history for up to 16 lanes per call, with the same weekly refresh. Keys are issued by our team; email success@cargado.com and see the reference at docs.cargado.com. Teams already on McLeod, Tai or Turvo can also push loads into Cargado from the TMS.

Questions brokers ask

Where do Cargado Market Rates come from?
From the bids carriers place on postings in Cargado. Each rate uses the trailing 12 weeks of bids on that lane and trailer type, and is refreshed weekly. Low, Mid and High are the 25th, 50th and 75th percentiles of those bids. Detail: https://cargado.com/help-articles/read-a-market-rate
Does the rate include fuel?
Yes. Carriers bid all-in on Cargado, so the range already includes fuel. When you compare it to a quote given as linehaul plus a fuel surcharge, add the surcharge to that quote first. Detail: https://cargado.com/help-articles/does-the-rate-include-fuel
What does the confidence label mean?
Strong, Medium or Lower Confidence reflects how many different carriers bid on the lane in the window and how tightly their bids cluster. A Lower Confidence rate is still real bids; check the history chart and, if the range is wide, post the lane to firm it up. Detail: https://cargado.com/help-articles/read-a-market-rate
What happens when my lane has no rate?
The result tells you there is not enough data and offers to post the lane as a potential. Try a nearby city pair or the other trailer type first; if you need the number, post it and let carriers bid. Detail: https://cargado.com/help-articles/no-rate-on-my-lane
How do I price a whole RFP bid file?
Deploy the Cargado add-in for Excel, create the Cargado Rates sheet, paste your lanes, and fill the rate functions down. You get Low, Mid, High, confidence and the recommended crossing per lane. Each lane you price counts as one lookup on your plan. Detail: https://cargado.com/help-articles/price-a-bid-file-in-excel
Do lookups cost extra?
Market Rates are included with every broker plan. Each plan carries a monthly allowance of lookups, metered per company; lookups in the app, in Excel and through the API all count the same. Plans are on https://cargado.com/pricing. Detail: https://cargado.com/help-articles/plan-usage-and-limits
