Full truckload freight to and from Mexico and Canada
Post a full truckload and carriers on the Cargado marketplace bid on it. Freight you've won or freight you're trying to win, with the trailer types you accept, who handles the border crossing, and the stop details carriers need to price it.
Price it, post it, book it
A customer asks for a truck from Monterrey to Dallas next week. Check where the lane sits before you quote, post it, and pick a carrier from the bids that come in.
Check the rate first
Market Rates show a low, mid and high all-in rate for the lane and trailer type, built from carrier bids.
Pick the posting type
A Load is already in your TMS, scheduled, with a rate from your customer. A Lane is won freight that repeats. Not won yet? Post a Potential Load or Lane to line up trucks and real rates.
Book from the bids
Compare the bids side by side and book the one that fits.
Light freight that still needs the whole trailer posts as a Full truckload. Freight that shares the trailer posts as a Partial truckload (LTL).
Questions about full truckload
Pick Full truckload under Mode on the posting form, then add the stops, the trailer types you accept, the weight and commodity, and the border crossing. Post it as a Load if it is already in your TMS and scheduled with a rate from your customer, as a Lane if it is won freight that repeats, or as a Potential Load or Lane if you haven't won it yet. Carriers bid on it.
You choose on the posting. Transfer by carrier means the carrier you book crosses the freight, so their bid includes it. Pre-set transfer means someone else already has the crossing, such as your customer, their customs broker or a transfer carrier you use. The question appears when the route includes Mexico and the U.S. or Canada.
Yes. On a full truckload you can select more than one Trailer Type. Select every Trailer Type the freight can go in. Torton, Rabón and the small 0.5 to 4.5 ton units appear only when every stop is in Mexico.
By leg. On a move between Mexico and the U.S., the carrier enters a price for the Mexico portion, the border crossing and the U.S. portion. On a move inside one country, it is a single all-in rate. On the Mexico portion of a cross-border move, bids include IVA (VAT) where applicable.
Yes. Cargado Market Rates show a low, mid and high all-in rate for full truckload freight on the lane and trailer type. Each rate uses the trailing 12 weeks of carrier bids on Cargado and is refreshed weekly.
