The story

Cargado is a modern marketplace for Mexico and Canada freight. Today we're adding two new ways to post freight. Brokers can now post partial truckload (LTL) and power-only loads and lanes, alongside full truckload freight. Brokers get more ways to cover freight, and carriers get more freight to choose from.

Partial truckload (LTL)

Pick Partial truckload (LTL) when you create a posting. Then add the details carriers need to decide:

  • Packaging type (pallets, crates, boxes and more), piece count and exact dimensions.
  • Cargado calculates the linear feet from those details and the trailer type. You can override the number when you need custom handling.
  • Carriers see how much trailer space your shipment takes, so they can combine loads or fill partial capacity with confidence.

Full truckload postings now support the same packaging details. More information up front means more accurate carrier bids.

Power Only

In a power-only move, the carrier brings the tractor and driver. No trailer is required. This lets you support shippers with drop-and-hook operations, surge capacity or private fleet needs.

Choose Power Only when you create a posting, then pick one of three move types:

  • Pre-loaded: the trailer is loaded and ready at the shipper or yard, so the carrier can hook up and go. Use it for drop-and-hook loads.
  • Load-out: the trailer starts loaded, and the carrier can keep and reuse it for one or more additional loads before returning it, usually under rules you set.
  • Tow-away: the carrier moves a trailer, empty or loaded, from point A to point B. This is often dealer-owned or customer-owned equipment. The carrier provides the tractor and driver.

For carriers

Power-only and partial postings show up in your regular load search, clearly marked, next to full truckload freight. Each partial posting shows the piece count, dimensions and linear feet, so you know how much trailer space it takes before you bid. Use partials to fill empty space on a truck or to combine several partials on the same lane.
