Market Update: Mexico Cross-Border

Rates, capacity, and regional supply conditions across USA–Mexico corridors
October 2026

Northbound capacity improved in October. Rates rose anyway.

1
Northbound loads drew more carrier bids than in September, and the rate rose 9¢ to $3.74 a mile as diesel dipped. Without fuel, $2.90, up 9¢.
2
Price by the tier. Find your market below and price it the way its tier says.
3
Northbound, quote the Low out of Monterrey and Torreón, where there are lots of trucks. Out of Querétaro, León, San Luis Potosí and Ciudad Juárez, quote the Mid, or the Low with lead time. Out of Mexico City, Guadalajara, Puebla, Toluca, Tijuana, Mexicali and Chihuahua, post as soon as the load is tendered, with a rate near the high.
4
Per inspection, border-based U.S. fleets were put out of service for English proficiency about four times as often as fleets based elsewhere. The October 26 and 27 strike blocked Mexican highways. We found no confirmed closure of a border bridge.
