Common questions
What brokers ask about Market Rates
Real carrier bids placed in Cargado's marketplace — hundreds every day, over 100,000 behind the current benchmarks — not scraped historical loads or annual surveys. Rates show as low, mid, and high market bands (P25, P50, P75) over a trailing 12-week window, refreshed weekly, each with a confidence score so you know how much weight to put on a lane. Thin-data lanes get a lower confidence score rather than a made-up number.
12,000+ Mexico and Canada lanes. U.S.–Mexico in both directions is the strongest coverage — corridors like Laredo–Monterrey and Guadalajara–Laredo — with U.S.–Canada and domestic Canada coverage emerging as the network grows, and domestic Mexico benchmarks launching in August 2026. The vast majority of U.S. domestic freight is out of scope — Cargado is cross-border-first by design.
Match the band to the freight. Pricing an RFP or consistent volume on a good lane with real lead time? Quote near P25 — especially with a high confidence score. A standard spot load with about a week of lead time sits around P50. Short notice, tough pickup windows, weekend pickups in Mexico, or a rising market push you toward P75. Then add your margin — the bands are carrier cost, to the truck.
Most rate tools are built on U.S. domestic data — surveys, factoring data, or stitched-together averages — and go quiet the moment freight crosses the border. Cargado's benchmarks come from real bids placed by vetted Mexico and Canada carriers on real cross-border freight, so the number reflects what carriers will actually move a lane for this week.
