Why the U.S. playbook stalls at the border
On a domestic load you search a board, run the MC number and onboard the carrier the same day. Most Mexican carriers have no MC or DOT number to run. They are credentialed by Mexican authorities, and their documents are in Spanish.

Trailer type, origin and destination, the border crossing (Cargado marks the recommended one), commodity, weight, pickup windows, and only the requirements the shipper actually needs, such as CTPAT, bonded status or a cargo insurance minimum. Every detail lets a carrier rule themselves in or out before anyone picks up the phone.

Cargado notifies every carrier that fits
When you post, Cargado checks the posting against every carrier profile: trailer type, origin and destination, the crossing, and the requirements you turned on. Mexican carriers are on Cargado directly and bid the same way a U.S. carrier does. You do not need your own Mexico sourcing pipeline to reach them.

Message suggested carriers before the first bid
The Coverage panel ranks carriers by what they actually do on Cargado: a preferred lane, a truck posted for your dates, a service area your lane sits inside. Message three to five as soon as you post. Chat translates both ways, and every translated message keeps a Show original link.

Read the bid, then run your own onboarding
Every bid shows the carrier's DOT, MC or SCT number and its status with your company: Onboarded, Needs to onboard, or Do not dispatch. Accept, counter or reject. After a match, the carrier onboards through your own link, you send the rate confirmation, and you pay them directly.
What you need
A freight broker account. Cargado creates freight broker accounts under a signed agreement, so request access and we set you up.
The lane details: commodity, weight, packaging, real pickup windows and the crossing.
Your carrier onboarding link and your do-not-use list. Send them to your success manager and every match points the carrier to your process.
Nothing else. You do not need a Spanish-speaking rep for routine coverage, and your existing carrier onboarding runs on every match, so there is no separate Mexico process to build.
What Cargado checks before a carrier can bid
Every carrier applies, and our carrier team reviews the application before turning the account on. Until then, a carrier cannot see or bid on freight.
- United States: the USDOT number is looked up in FMCSA records, and our records must show active common or contract authority.
- Mexico: RFC and constancia de situación fiscal, SICT operating permit, proof of address, ID for the legal representative, and the acta constitutiva for companies.
- Canada: the provincial safety registration (CVOR, NIR or NSC), a safety fitness certificate, a certificate of incorporation and a certificate of insurance.
- Three references from companies the carrier has hauled for.
Our team is alerted when a carrier's USDOT status is no longer active. Carriers state requirements like CTPAT or bonded status on their own profile, so confirm them before you tender. Cargado's review does not replace your own carrier onboarding.
