What Cargado is, and what it is not
Cargado is subscription software for freight brokers, 3PLs and forwarders that move freight between the U.S., Mexico and Canada. It has two parts: an invite-only marketplace where you post loads and lanes and get bids from carriers our team has reviewed, and Market Rates, lane-level rate bands built from those bids. It is not a TMS, it is not a freight broker, and it does not replace the domestic load board you already run.
A marketplace
Post a spot load, a dedicated lane, a project or a potential. Carriers that fit are notified and bid. You compare, counter and accept in one place. On McLeod, Tai and Turvo integrations the booking flows back into your TMS; on other systems your team records it there.
Rate data
Low, mid and high bands for a lane, refreshed weekly, with a confidence badge. In the app, in Excel and through the API.
Not a TMS
Your TMS stays the system of record. Loads sync from it into Cargado. On McLeod, Tai and Turvo integrations, bids and bookings flow back into your TMS; on other systems, your team records the booking in your TMS.
Where Cargado sits in your stack
A broker's Mexico and Canada freight usually touches three tools: a TMS, a domestic load board and a list of Mexico and Canada carrier contacts kept somewhere else. Cargado replaces the list. The other two stay.
Your TMS
Cargado has production integrations with Tai, McLeod and Turvo, plus a custom path for other systems and a public API. Loads sync from your TMS into Cargado and post under your posting rules. On McLeod, Tai and Turvo integrations, bids and bookings flow back into your TMS; on other systems, your team records the booking in your TMS. Our team sets the integration up with yours.
Your domestic load board
Keep it. Cargado is built for freight that crosses the border, not for U.S. domestic loads, and the marketplace is invite-only rather than an open board.

Market rates built from real carrier bids
Market Rates is included in every broker plan. Look up a lane and you get a low, mid and high band (P25, P50, P75) from the bids carriers placed in the marketplace over the trailing 12 weeks, refreshed weekly, with a confidence badge based on how many carriers bid on the lane and how much their bids vary.
- In the app: pick equipment, origin, destination and, on a Mexico lane, the crossing. Cargado recommends a crossing when the bid data supports one.
- In dollars, pesos or Canadian dollars, whichever you ask for.
- In Excel: price a whole RFP lane by lane with the add-in.
- Through the API: bring the bands into your pricing engine or TMS.
- The bands are what carriers bid, to the truck, not your sell rate. Add your margin.
- No data on a lane? Post it as a potential and let carriers tell you the number.
Who is on the other side of the bid
Every carrier applies, and our carrier team reviews the application before turning the account on. Until then the carrier cannot see or bid on freight. What a carrier submits depends on where it is based.
- U.S.: the USDOT number is looked up in FMCSA records, and our records must show active common or contract authority before the account is turned on.
- Mexico: RFC and constancia de situación fiscal, the SICT operating permit, proof of address and ID for the legal representative, and the acta constitutiva for companies. Our team reviews the documents.
- Canada: the provincial safety registration number (CVOR, NIR or NSC), a safety fitness certificate, a certificate of incorporation and a certificate of insurance.
- Three references from companies the carrier has hauled for.
- After approval, our team is alerted when a carrier's USDOT status is no longer active, and you can block a carrier on any load or lane you post.
Cargado's review does not replace your own carrier onboarding. Carriers state certifications like CTPAT, bonded status or cargo insurance on their own profile, so confirm them before you tender.
