Set up your Tai integration

Connecting Tai to Cargado is free, and Cargado hosts and supports it. Cargado gives you a login email, webhook URLs and a token; you send back an API key, your login URL and two report codes.

The Tai integration is free. Cargado hosts it and supports it, and you do not need your Tai rep: we connect directly to your Tai account through its API.

What Cargado provides

  • A login email for the Tai staff user you create for Cargado.
  • Five webhook URLs and a bearer token, with instructions for registering them in Tai.
  • The setup guide for Tai, and help on a shared screen if you want it.

What you provide

  • A Tai staff user for Cargado, created with the login email we send, and its API key (the public authentication key).
  • Your Tai login URL.
  • Two Tai custom reports, one for shipments and one for carriers, covering the last 12 months. Send us the JSON report code for each.
  • Linked organizations. Link every organization or sub-organization whose freight should sync.

Test or production: your Cargado contact confirms which Tai instance and which Cargado environment to use.

Four questions we ask during setup

  1. Who covers the freight. Which Tai field names the person or team that owns coverage, if any. During setup, we assign the coverage owner and teams in Cargado and set a fallback owner.
  2. Which rate to post. Which Tai field, if any, holds the rate you want on the posting.
  3. Loads without a rate. Whether those can post as bid-only, so carriers send their price.
  4. Ready to post. Which Tai status means a load can be posted.

What happens after you connect

  • Your Tai freight syncs into Cargado. Until a load is posted, only your team can see it.
  • Nothing reaches carriers until you approve a posting rule or post a load yourself. See Set up auto-posting rules.
  • During setup, we confirm which TMS status means a load is no longer available. When that status syncs, Cargado takes the posting down.
  • Carrier bids come back to the load in Tai, and when you book a carrier, the booking syncs back to Tai too. The rate confirmation still comes from your team.

For how synced loads post and how bids come in, see What does a TMS integration do?

Send credentials directly

Send keys, tokens, passwords and secrets straight to your Cargado contact. Never post them in a shared chat, channel or group thread, where people outside the setup can read them.

How to start

Email success@cargado.com or ask your Cargado contact. We start with a short call with someone on your team who knows your Tai setup and can approve posting rules.

Still stuck?

Email us and a person on our team will answer. Send the posting link or a screenshot if you have one.
