Fill out a posting, section by section
A top-to-bottom guide to the new-posting form: what each section asks, what carriers see, and which fields change with the route.
The posting form runs top to bottom in this order. Some sections depend on the route or posting type.
Posting Type
Pick one of the four types. Post it right explains which one fits.
Internal identifiers
Load ID (Lane ID on a lane) and Customer ID are for you. Carriers never see them. A Load needs a Load ID.
Lane Details (lanes only)
Set the Load Frequency as a number or a range per day, week or month, or as a total. Add the Shipping time frame, the Pickup Days and any Excluded dates. Minimum tender lead-time starts at 24 hours.
Mode
Choose Full truckload, Partial truckload (LTL) or Power Only. See Post LTL or partial freight and special moves.
Pickups and Deliveries
For each stop, enter the location and the loading method, Live or Drop (Power Only skips it on the first and last stops). Loads and potential loads also ask for the appointment: Appointment, Window, or To be set if you do not have one yet. Stops after the first pickup also offer First-Come First-Served. The facility checkboxes follow the stop's country, such as Facility is OEA Certified in Mexico or Facility is PIP Certified in Canada. For extra stops, see round trips and multi-stop loads.
Trailer Requirements
You can select more than one Trailer Type, except on Power Only, which takes one. More trailer types let more carriers match the posting. Torton, Rabón and the small 0.5 to 4.5 ton units appear only when every stop is in Mexico.
Border Crossing
This section appears when the route includes Mexico and another country. See which crossing to pick and who handles the crossing.
Transit Requirements
Each country on the route gets its own block, and the U.S. and Canada share one when both are on the route. Each covers transit time, team drivers and tracking. Mexico adds a security escort.
Load Details
Enter the Weight, or check Enter a weight range if you only know a range. Pounds is the default unit, and tonnes on a route inside Mexico. Name the real Commodity. If you check Hazmat Requirements, you must fill in the UN Number, Classification and Packing Group.
Important: Classification and Packing Group come pre-filled. Match both to the shipper's paperwork.
Equipment, Carrier and Driver Requirements
Check only what the shipper requires. Cargado does not notify a carrier whose own saved searches or profile settings rule out a requirement you checked, such as hazmat or a higher insurance minimum.
- Min. Cargo Insurance shows when the route includes the U.S. or Canada. It defaults to USD $100,000, and the highest option is $2 million. Above $100,000, the posting shows a High value cargo tag. That tag does not require CTPAT. CTPAT is its own checkbox.
- Tanker Endorsed is a driver requirement, next to TWIC Card. CDL appears on U.S. domestic routes and on routes between Mexico and another country.
Incumbents and Block Carriers
On lanes, Incumbents hides the posting from your current carrier (see Post a lane you already cover). Block Carriers works on every type (see Block a carrier).
Save and continue, then post
If the freight has everything it needs, Save and continue opens the posting step. If something is missing, it sends you back to finish. In the posting step you set Instant Responses, the coverage owner and a custom message, then choose Post to Cargado. Lanes and potentials also set New bids allowed until.
