Who are my suggested carriers, and how do I work the Coverage tab?

The Coverage tab lists the carriers Cargado suggests for your posting, shows why each one fits, and keeps every bid and chat in one list.

Suggested carriers are the carriers Cargado matched to your posting. They appear on the posting's Coverage tab, usually with the reason each one was suggested, and carriers who bid or message you show at the top of the same list.

Step 1: Open the Coverage tab

When you post new freight with Post to Cargado, the app takes you to Coverage. If you post again from the Posting tab, open Coverage yourself. Building the list takes about 30 seconds, and the screen says Finding eligible carriers... while it works. On a computer, the first carrier's chat then opens on the right.

To come back later, open the posting from Home or the Freight tab and choose Coverage. The tab is there while the posting is live, and after it comes down if any carrier bid or chatted.

Step 2: Read each row

Before a carrier bids, its row can show one reason it was suggested:

  • Available truck: the carrier posted a truck that matches your posting.
  • Preferred lane: the carrier has a saved search that matches your posting.
  • Service areas: your lane sits inside the service areas on the carrier's profile.

When more than one applies, the row shows the first in that order. Once the carrier bids, the reason is replaced by the bid amount, with a status such as Countered, Rejected or Matched.

A shield next to the name means your company already has that carrier on file. Green is active. Gray needs review. On a computer, click the carrier and the chat header spells it out, for example Active - Onboarded or Needs to onboard. Click the carrier's name there to see its legal name, address, USDOT and MC numbers, truck, driver and trailer counts, and certifications.

Step 3: Know what the order means

Carriers who bid or chatted come first, with the most recent activity near the top. A chat with unread messages moves up, with the name in bold and a red dot. The rest of the list follows in the order Cargado ranks them for this posting.

The list shows up to 50 carriers. While the posting is open and not booked, it ends with Only top suggested carriers are shown. To see the wider picture, click the Carriers header. That summary shows how many suggested carriers this lane has, a bar from Low Supply to Strong Supply, and a checklist of what Cargado looks at. That count can be larger than the list.

Step 4: Message the list

Click a carrier to open a chat with them, where chat is available for that carrier. There is no button to message everyone at once, so write one short note and send it to each carrier you want. See Message a carrier before they bid.

What feeds the list

Suggestions come from what carriers tell Cargado and do on it: the service areas on their profile, the trucks they post and the searches they save. Your posting's lane and details decide who matches. See Post it right.

There is no directory of every carrier on Cargado. Posting is how you see who fits a lane, and a Potential Load or Potential Lane works for that.

When a carrier says they don't run the lane

Move on to the next carrier. If it keeps happening with the same carrier, let your success manager know which carrier and which lane.

Tip: After a posting comes down, its Coverage list keeps the carriers who bid or chatted, including chats you started. Once the freight is booked, they sit under Carrier history.
